Welcome to Grill Food Bites!

Hello everyone! My name is Joyjit Sarkar and if you’re reading this out I’d like to thank you for the time you’ve spared. Being a crazy food lover I’ve always believed in one simple mantra “I live to eat”. And this blog is kind of a comeback for me since the last article I wrote was back in 2013.

I’m living in New Delhi (India) for the last 9 years and this is where my professional life marked a beginning after completing college and getting a degree in mechanical engineering. Cooking was one of the loves of my life and apart from the regular cuisines I used to experiment often with other recipes during my bachelor days. It was in the early phase of my career I came to know what blogging is and started doing a bit of research about the fundamentals.

The monsoon of 2012 is fresh in my memories as my first blog came online and it was none other than the same topic that you are reading in this blog. Yes, indeed – Grill Food Recipes. Trying my hands on the grill sometimes at my or some friend’s place during the weekend made the inner cook to jot down my own recipes, but in those days with an internet infrastructure not as prominent as today the key element lacking was presentation. In fact the major thing absent in those days were videos. So the focus was more on writing quality content with supporting images rather than showcasing treat for the eyes or doing the story telling part through videos.

Well before it gets a bit boring I’d like to add only a few things. As this journey started I went with the flow with my food experiments and did the writing part at regular intervals. But I researched for other keywords too and by the end of 2012 I had three blogs running simultaneously on three different topics. I kept going and had half a dozen blogs running by mid 2013. Topics of my interest or things that attracted me were the soul or theme for the blogs.

It was in 2016 I got married to my wife Tamashree and we started a beautiful chapter together in our life. She’s a teacher and a Handicraft Artist (visit Colour Splash) and both being mad foodies were very much fond of looking for new recipes online, trying out with different varieties whether cooking at home or eating out. At times she insisted me to restart this blogging journey and it used to stay in my mind thinking about it. So you must be thinking what happened to those web pages? Let’s rewind the clock 3 years back.

Though the 9-5 job paid my bills and sorted my expenses, it was digital marketing that had all my attention for quite long as I started getting traffic on my web page and learnt new things. And I loved being a free soul. So I started my own digital marketing agency (TechnoFin)in that year and got my first client. This overtook my researching & love for writing and there was a decline in those articles. The blogs weren’t updated often, the domains started to expire and it hardly bothered me anymore.

Now back in the present. The digital marketing chapter do marked my financial growth slowly, but in terms of learning things were not going in a positive direction. There was work over load, stress and sometimes anxiety while facing clients or visiting new prospects. So, this override of professional life can divert you away from what you love. And the same happened in my case too.

But someone said “When life gives you lemon, make lemonade”, well it’s true in every sense but not so easy. Especially when you’re hustling everyday to make your dreams come true. You fell down then you rise again but you never give up and stop. And after all the highs & lows, wounds and scars you receive in that battle, a day arrives when you stand tall as a winner.

So this is one more humble beginning towards the genre I love the most; trying to get back to the roots that made me land up in the arena of digital marketing. I’ll keep bringing in unique and mouth watering grill food recipes and try to make my readers hooked to this blog.
